Re: [orca-list] Orca no longer announce the new folder we're into

For me, when I enable only speak displayed text, Orca says "List View" not "List View tree table". This is with Orca master.

The reason Orca still says "List View" is because "List view" is the name of the object which claims focus. When something claims focus, I assume Orca should announce the new location so you know where you are, right?

In addition, as I mentioned earlier, Orca cannot know for certain if the accessible name is actually displayed somewhere as visible text or not. Thus as long as Caja keeps "List View" as the name of that tree table, I'm afraid Orca is going to speak it. If the Caja developers were to be convinced that things like roles shouldn't be used as accessible names in the first place, that might help....

Sorry!

It seems it still remain a corner case of this one:
1) Launch Caja
2) Typing the first letter of a folder and press return without waiting

Result:
Orca says "list view tree table"

Expected result:
I assume Orca should say the same as without doing search or at least announce the folder we're into.

Best regards.

Ok, I have hopefully fixed this, but I'm only doing the change in master until we have much more testing. The reason why is one change was to remove an old hack we had in place to eliminate some chattiness. Hopefully it doesn't make things way too chatty now. The other change was to stop presenting the "frame" role when the active frame hasn't changed. I don't know if that will have any side effects we don't want.
Thank you very much Joanie. It works great. At this time I don't see regressions with this.

Best regards,
Alex.
