Re: [orca-list] Orca Speech Is Crackly On Initial Speech Output

Is there any plan to support Pipewire? It's ultimately meant to supersede both PulseAudio and Jack.

If speech-ddispatcher have been compiled with Libao library support, problem can be overcomed by editing speechd.conf configuration file and by changing output method from Pulse to libao. Sure, Libao library must be installed in yours distribution. So for security reasons, try this only in live mode and consult with distribution creators. Sure, speech latency will be alittle higher than while using default Pulse. I I AM also dreaming about recoding espeak and portaudio.h recoding to support audio Jack sound server. But I do not know, if it would bring too much positive aspects related to speech quality and latency.
