Hey Chrys.
I was able to reproduce the problem using Kate (I don't use mumble and
don't feel like installing it unless I really have to). In particular, I
created a document, typed some text, and then attempted to close the
document with unsaved changes.
With this test case in mind, it turns out that Orca was presenting the
message text, but then interrupting presentation. I've reworked the
handling of window deactivation to only apply to the window Orca thinks
its in. It solved the problem for me. Hopefully it does for you as well.
Please let me know. Thanks!

Howdy Joanie,
I recognized that some (maybeall?) dialogs like confirmation or message
dialogs are not spoken when they pop up. just the currently focused
button is spoken if they pop up. if i remember correctly on GTK it
speaks all the text what is in the message window bevore read the
current focused button.
i recognized this in mumble while getting the "accept server key"
dialog. but as i remeber right i did see this on other dialogs too.
could you take a look if you can reproduce this or what is needed to get
the dialog spoken on pop up?
cheers chrys
