I'll counter with simply clicking my Waterfox desktop shortcut is 
quicker than opening up a terminal and doing cd /waterfox
./waterfox

So it all comes down to preference really. Then again if I had my way 
I'd have desktop shortcuts for my most used programs and not need a 
menu. GOing back to Ratpoison and Strychnine I could pull that of with 
keyboard commands, which I like. Though again, YMMV on that one also
