Everybody who wants to be on the committee/team send me an email. My
address is jheim math wisc edu. I'll set up a meeting. Can we all do
skype? If we can't all do skype, we can just bounce emails back & forth.
In the meeting, we can do things like select a committee chair,
formulate a plan, etc.
IMO, the most important thing will be to keep orca users informed. We
should make a commitment to posting updates on this list and to taking
feedback from users.
PS: I love this plan, I am excited to be a part of it.

If every thing is so much in place then there is very little to do other
than just starting the campaign and letting every one on the list know
about it.
This can also be a pattern for other bugs.
Happy hacking.

This is outstanding. A PayPal account would make it possible for F123
to help a bit as well.
Can you tell all of us what would be the next steps and what you need
from us? it sounds like Hypra can do the work, IAVIT can receive the
money and even contribute some, and F123 might also be able to
contribute a little bit of funding, just to show you guys are not on
your own, plus more support for future bugs.

We just decided to shut down iavit.org, the International Association
Of Visually Impaired Technologists. I suppose we could reconsider if
there was a demand. I would be willing to coordinate funding for bug
fixes through iavit.org. We already are a 501C3 and have a paypal
account. We could put together a committee to set priorties and
decide on payments. I would be willing to chair the committee -- or
not if someone else wanted to drive it.
IAVIT has some money. We have already pretty much settled on what to
do with what we have left but I might be able to get IAVIT to kick in
somewhere between a few hundred to a couple of thousand dollars. I'd
have to talk to the board of directors.

I also believe that such important work should be paid because it
will bring in a sence of commertial commitment as well as some
money for those who will be dedicating their time for this.
It is an important bug and must be solved.
It's now in your hand to make a crowdfunding and help us to invest
to fix this bug smile :).
Best regards,
Alex.
