Re: [orca-list] issue with orca and plain text documents in seamonkey and possibly firefox ?

Indeed it does repeat the line twice.. In fact if I press ctrl+end and then up arrow it will repeat the last line, no need to move anything else for it to happen. The lag when doing this with large document is a lot better though. Not perfect, but still more reactive than what it was initially yesterday. I didn't notice it was code freeze, as I'm always on master and my only desktop is ratpoison as window manager.
Thanks

Can you please re-test with Orca master? Note that, at least for me,
Orca presents the final line twice: Once when the caret is at the very
end of the line (i.e. the true end of the document) and again when you
first up arrow and move to the beginning of that line. I'll dig into
that further later. But we're essentially at code freeze, and working
around Gecko's broken accessible-text issues right before code freeze is
just asking for trouble. <tired smile> Hopefully this makes things suck
a bit less.

Seems to work rather well, however when you press up arrow after doing
ctrl+end, depending on the document size it can take up to 15 seconds
for orca to catch up, or if it's too big, it will completely freeze. If
you restart orca you are back to beginning of document.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
seems to work wonders. I'll make sure to see if there are no regression.

Hi Tyna.

Could you please pull master and re-test? Note that in the case of page
up/page down, Orca is relying upon Firefox telling us the caret moved.
When you use page up/page down, Firefox only tells us the caret has
moved if the Firefox caret is enabled. You can enable/disable the
Firefox caret with F7.

Thanks!

Steps to reproduce:
Take this url as an example:
http://ix.io/rlV

This is a raw document in plain text. Now suppose you want to press
page
down or up, or ctrl+end to go completely at the end of that document.

Expected behavior: orca jumps where you told it to.
unexpected behavior: orca jump back to the beginning of the
document, no
matter where you were previously.

I hope this can be fixed, this issue is actually very annoying and
makes
it impossible to use a gui browser to check on debug logs or other raw
plain text stuff easily.
