Thanks to a few people for the warnings re: accessibility bugs in
chnchi. Mindful of these, I just did an installation of Antergos, and it
appears to work as expected, except the use of lightdm instead of gdm;
that's easily fixed. I appreciate the application group choices the
installer presents; provides a little customization of your installed
system. I don't know what the minimal installer offers; if it's not a
gui, perhaps espeakup could be added?
Cheers,
Dave

hi
Looks like it's not calamares, but a fork of the old installer
manjaros used to use, called thus. They changed the name, but it looks
and acts similarly to thus, and that beta software warning looks
almost identical to the one manjaro used to use. If the new installer,
calamares, continues to be difficult we, meaning the sonar devs, might
be able to port that one over to manjaro and use it. Joanie, would you
mind taking a look at calamares once you have time? You can do this
easily by downloading a manjaro iso. I'm trying to figure out if the
reason orca can't see it is because of an orca issue or that age old
apps run as root bug. No rush at all, this isn't life or death, just
figured I'd ask while I was thinking about it.
Thanks

Hi, it think it uses some other installer written in gtk, it has .py
extension, but I forgot its name. The version is 0.14.91, the name
starts with c or ch letter.

hi
This is great news. I'm going to download that now. Since antergos
uses calamares, the same installer sonar uses, that means it's
accessible. Any chance there's a mate edition? If not, shrug I'll
just install it afterwards.
Thanks

Hi
I am installing Antergos now. I booted to the live dvd by loading
dvd, pressing down key and enter, the boot live dvd is the second
item. Gnome started, alt super s started Orca and I am installing
it now. The installer is interesting, you can select desktop,
browser and some other functions and apps. It has Gnome 3.22. The
installer has some accessibility issues, but only back / next
buttons are spoken as push button only, but the first is back, the
second is next.
