Re: [orca-list] Firefox Keyboard Shortcuts Query

All two options work equally well. I have checked personally.
If you need to press a few combinations of shortcut keys in a row, you can call a forced focus mode. In this case - do not forget, after pressing the appropriate keys, come back in the reading mode.

Thanks - option (1) works great.

Hi.

If I understand you correctly, then you have two options:

1. Press the key combination "orca + backspace". After that, the next
press of any key will be transferred to the application (in our case -
"firefox");

2. Press the "orca + a", to enter focus mode. After that, you also can
take advantage of a combination of keys, which is designed for a
particular site.

Hi all,

Does anyone know how to use access key shortcuts in web pages in
Firefox?

In Windows, you use Alt + the access key in Internet Explorer, and
Alt+Shift+access key in Firefox.

But in Linux with Orca running, if I do, for example, Alt+Shift+1, that
seems to be a key binding used by Orca to show the list of headings at
level 1, rather than shifting focus to the HTML element with the access
key 1.

Just to clarify, I'm referring to access keys specified in HTML like <a
href="some_page.htm" accesskey="1" />

I did do some Googling prior to posting but couldn't find any clues.

Thanks,

Nick
