Re: [orca-list] Thunderbird : when opening mails Orca nnounces the subject two times

Hi Alex.

I can sort of reproduce this. I say "sort of" because I do hear the
subject twice, but if you are seeing what I am seeing, I'm not convinced
it's a bug.

As a test, I opened a message in a new window. When a new window appears, Orca is expected to announce that you are in the window and also announce the title of the window. The title of the window included the subject of the message, but not the "Re:". Therefore the first time (most) of the subject was presented was due to the window activation. Shortly thereafter, the message finishes loading. When a document finishes loading, Orca is expected to announce the name/title of the document. The name/title of the document happens to be the subject (this time with the "Re:").

Is this the behavior you are reporting? If so.... I personally don't think we want to stop speaking the window title or the name of the newly-loaded document. And attempting to conditionally not speak either would likely be a fragile hack that might break more than it fixes. On the other hand, if you are seeing something else, I need more details.

Dear all,

My test environment :
- Debian Jessie 8.6 / Python 3.4.2 / AT-SPI 2.14.0
- Orca from git
- Thunderbird 45.5.0 (Mozilla binary, not Icedove)

Steps to reproduce :
1) Open Thunderbird
2) Open a mail (both in new tab or new window)

Result : Orca announces two times the mail subject
Expected result : Orca should announce only one time the mail subject

Best regards.
