Thank you for the reply!
I download gnome version today from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-gnome/daily-live/pending/
It has the same issue to standard version.
Here is the procedure:
1. boot i386 LiveCD in Virtualbox in Mac.
2. Choose "Try Ubuntu"
3. CTRL+ALT+T to open a terminal
4. run `orca -s`. It speaks "screen reader on ... (another sentense) ...
screen reader off". No setup window is launched.
Ok you are starting Orca incorrectly, or rather, you are starting Orca in a way that is not going to give you
best results for the install process and the installed system.
Firstly, the GNOME version of Ubuntu does not properly work with what I am about to explain, and thats
because I just didn't have time to implement this properly for the GNOME flavour, and the Mate version also
appears to be misbehaving, again no idea, it was working when I tested it and uploaded relevant changes for
Mate to work. So if you want to use either GNOME shell or Mate, I advise to install from the main ubuntu
release, and then install your desktop environment of choice.
1. Boot into Ubuntu as usual.
2. When you hear the drums sound, you press and hold the super key + alt key + S, to start Orca. This is the
same keystroke you would use to launch Orca either in GNOME shell, Unity, or Mate. Orca should then start
speaking. You can then open Orca's preferences window to adjust the settings to you rliking.
At that point you can install the system as usual.
P.S. I am sorry if your particular desired flavour of Ubuntu can't be installed with Orca properly. I am only
one person, and trying to get this all working with 3 different Ubuntu flavours, all of which have their own
quirks that need to be taken into consideration takes time and effort. I will try to do what I can to make
sure that things are better for the 16.04.1 release, but for now as above, install ubuntu proper, and then
install your preferred desktop environment of choice.
Luke
