Talking-Arch is already at the limit of what fits on a CD, and I guess some people can't get the current
image to burn on to a CD as is. The person(s)
in question may be doing something wrong as the image appears to be just barely under max size for said
optical media. I almost never use CDs
myself/don't have any blank ones lying around and so have not had a chance to chek on what the person or
persons in question may be doing wrong, but a
few more megs would almost certainly push the image size past CD limit.
I am not sure why arch isos have ballooned as much as they have over the last couple of years, but if I'm
remembering what I've read TA doesn't have
anything beyond what is needed for speakup to talk with espeak and some basic braille support that is not on
the standard arch image.
I'm not a sonar user, but the reason for a CLI spin would be to make installation easier for the less
experienced users. I can certainly make the case
that those users shold not be using arch in the first place unless they have someone around to provide tech
supppport, e.g. a sys-admin, at least folks
who are not prepared to learn to swim by being thrown in to relatively deep water...lol
I've probbly already said too much, not trying to start a discussion here that should be handled somewhere
else. I'll only add that I did dload a
sonar-cli image once and it did not boot for me after being dd'ed on to a usb stick, so if this is the norm
then obviously these images are not ready
for primetime.
Cheers/good luck with the mate spin.
