Posting to the orca list for those who aren't on the sonar list. The
problem I'm referring to is the problem of mate images not booting to
the desktop when built. I've tried everything I know to do so I need
phil mooler from manjaro to take a look.
hi all
Sonar gnome images have been uploaded to sourceforge. Note that this is
the 64 bit image only, along with it's sha512 sum and the package list.
I can upload the 32 bit image on request or I can have kyle upload it.
I've taken the liberty of not uploading to the testing folder since it
never got moved out of there last time, so you'll find it on the main
sonargnulinux page. I am planning to release a mate version, but it will
be delayed because I still need to have phil look into the problem. He's
said he'll do so but he hasn't done it yet. As soon as he has and I've
verified that it's fixed I'll upload a mate version. This is my main
priority, but it's slowed down by the need to wait on him to look at it.
There will no longer be a command line version of sonar, mainly due to
the fact that I've never been able to get it working satisfactorily, and
I don't want to compete with talking arch, which already works and is
based on arch already. I will see if kyle will add some of the packages
sonar had that talking arch currently does not come with, including a
preconfigured irssi config, and some internet and multimedia software,
though obviously command line based instead of gui based. I'll make sure
to write back in once I have a solution to the mate issue. After this
release we will change our release schedule to sync up with manjaro's
release schedule. Manjaro currently releases a new iso every three
months. So there will be 2016.03, 2016.06, 2016.09, etc. We can change
this to simply 16.06 if this would make it easier. I am also going to
change over to the new qt based installer since our old gtk based one is
long in the tooth, no longer actively maintained and has some a11y
issues no one wants to fix since manjaro itself has already switched over.
Thanks
Kendell clark
