You don't mention what operating system you're running, but the Vinux
wiki has a page on Voxin at http://wiki.vinuxproject.org/voxin
Note I'm just answering a question here. I'm not recommending or
encouraging the use of Voxin. ;-)

Wow a lot of discussion on this topic. I do have to admit most just
went over my head. But I am hearing that I can get Eloquence on Linux?
I think someone did post up how to get it, but I can’t seem to find
the email. Can someone please post again how to put Eloquence up again?
Also, I am no programmer, but I think it would be cool if we have an
app that you can make your own voice. Just have a list of words that
you just read and speak. That would give a wide varity and hopfully
open source voices. I have a few friends that speak very very clearly.
Thanks!

any chance of getting the firmware and other stuff off of that card?
maybe it could be turned into a cross-platform software synthesizer
for both NVDA and orca.

Funny about different voices;
I don't like eSpeak at all, but I sometimes miss my Artic215.
It was on an ISA card, and it isn't easy to find a motherboard with
an ISA
slot any more.
I only have one card that was upgraded to run on faster computers,
but I
acquired a couple more of them that had not been upgraded, but was
planning
on sending them in, but when I could afford it, Artic Technologies
went
under, and ISA slots mostly became a thing of the past.
But as I remember the Artic speech, seems like it sounded a lot
like eSpeak.
