Have you considered Debian 8? It's not a live environment, but can be
installed with speech and braille support. The resulting system will
be accessible, if the installation was done in this way. At install
time, you can choose which, if any, desktop to load, among other
choices. If you choose one of the guided options, it takes you, in
small, easy steps, through the installation process.
/Re: live environments, I believe Ubuntu, Ubuntu-Mate, Fedora, Sonar,
and F123 have already been mentioned. Don't be quick to write off
Trisquel GNU/Linux, version 7, Standard Edition. the main image is a
live environment which, when booted, will begin talking, by means of
Orca, and will be focused on the desktop. The desktop is a variant of
the Gnome Flashback or Fallback session, with an appearance similar to
that of Mate. Trisquel's emphases are on stability and the inclusion
of free application programs and device support. As a practical
matter, this means that support for some graphics and wifi devices may
not be present or may be sub-optimal. Check out the Trisquel live
system for yourself; you may be pleasantly surprised. If it's all
working out of the box, go ahead and do the easy, accessible,
GUI-based installer!
