Re: [orca-list] orca problem on scrolling web sites

Aha! Now I understand. New stuff is being added to the page (like new
headings for search results as a result of scrolling and causing more to
be shown on DuckDuckGo). Orca doesn't seem to realize it, so it returns
to the top. I'll see what I can do about that tonight.

Thanks again guys. Sorry about the no-facebook thing.

Hi,
I think that this is best demonstrated on live pages, because I think
that this bug has to do something with dynamic nature of sites.
You can try to search for anything on Duckduckgo.
When you reach last displaied result, activate "Load more" link and try
to move by heading. You will be out of luck.

Hi all again,

I have tried to reproduce the issue with Orca 3.16.2, and with a
commit before the structural navigation changes, even before disable
dead filtering
and I can reproduce in both cases.
So this may be a Facebook new feature.

I can try to capture entire page, but don't know if this will work for
javascript it uses.
If you need to use Facebook with Orca, better try with Mobile interface
http://m.facebook.com

Javier

Hi Vojta, Joanie, all

I can confirm this with latest master Orca.

I will send my big debug file.
No tracebacks on terminal.

Javier

Hi Vojta.

I'm afraid I don't use facebook. So a couple of questions: Are you
using
Orca master and if so, could you capture a full debug.out?

Thanks!

Hi,
Try this:
1. open Facebook
2. scroll down using 'h' to move by headings.
3. At one place you will be returned back to top. Try going to the
most
bottom heading you can find and use down arrow or for example 'o'
key to
read further. There is further text but 'h' keeps returning me to
the top.
Also I encounter other problem, which is present for longer time.
Sometimes I have to press page down for site to scroll and for Orca to
be able to read it. But this is obviously also broken now.
Best regards,
Vojta
