Re: [orca-list] a page that freezes orca temporary during loading

Hey Kendell.

To be clear, your complaint is not that page loading takes long, but
that Orca doesn't present anything at all, in any application, while it
is loading? The reason I ask is that planet.fedoraproject.org sometimes
takes a long time to load. But if I Alt+Tab, Orca presents GNOME Shell's
switcher right away. And if I tab within the web page, Orca presents
that right away too.

If Orca is grinding to a halt -- and not just the page load is slow --
please pull master and try again. I ask for a couple of reasons: 1) I
filtered out some more events (those from dead objects) and 2) Without a
debug.out, I cannot even guess at the problem since I am not seeing all
those RSS-link events you are.

hi
I've just pulled from master, but unfortunately I don't see much of a
difference. Once the page is loaded of course orca works as it should

Hey Kendell.

While I cannot reproduce the flood you are seeing, I just committed
a change to master which I hope will help. Please test and let me
know.

hi Nope, I'm afraid not. I think I have 6, maybe 7 bookmarks in
all. Thanks Kendell clark

Dang, Kendell.

That is a most epic event flood. Search for: QUEUEING
OBJECT:TEXT-CHANGED:DELETE:SYSTEM [LINK | RSS] (0,1,[OBJ])

Looks like you have 750. There are other events too, but
that's the killer one. I'll see what I can do. In the meantime,
any chance you have a huge number of bookmarks?

hi The page still causes a temporary freeze while loading,
so I've captured a debug.out file. I'll attach it, rather
than opening a bug report. It's over 2 mb so I've compressed
it. All I've done was start orca in debug mode, open
seamonkey since it wasn't open, go into my bookmarks menu and
load the page. Thanks Kendell clark

Hey guys.

If you can still reproduce this with master, could you
please capture a full debug.out. There might be an event
flood I'm not handling.

Thanks! --joanie

Sometimes orca speaks the "loading" message, but either
way it's loading. While the page is loading, orca will
not read any new content. Once the page is loaded orca
returns to normal. Should this happen? I would assume
that if firefox is busy loading, orca should still read
other applications. I suspect some weirdness with firefox
though, and possibly an orca issue. I'm a little tired
still, I'll probably be clearer once I've had coffee
