Re: [orca-list] heads up: beta code for progress bar beeps in orca coming soon

Howdy,
I did some testing, and the beeps sounded fine to me. I guess you could try making them 50MS? The volume was
ok too, loud enough to be heard easily but not over powering. If it were changed from 15% over all, I'd go no
higher than 25% at most, and that may be too quiet.
Thanks so much for doing this work. This is something a lot of us have wanted for years, it's awesome that
it's finally being done.
Thanks
Storm

Hi List,

Thanks for your feedback.

I will change the comvobox to a checkbox so you can enable beeps and announcements at same time.

The volume does decrease with higher pitches over the time. If the progess reach the 100 the volume is
decreased 15%. Schould i make higher volume decrease rate or decrease the loudness over all?
How many percent you wish that the loudness should be decrreased?

The beep time... For now it has a length of 100 ms. How long should the beep be? I dont think that it make
sense to be able to configure the louness and lenght of a beep.

Cheers Chrys

hi
I second both of these. A slightly shorter tone and a both option.
Joanie might be in the best position to add that once chrys submits
the patch, but in the meantime I'll try to see if I can figure out how
to add the option. I don't think I can do anything about the tones,
that code is over my head.
Thanks
