I use Gnome-shell 3.12 on Ubuntu 14.04. No issues with accessibility worth mentioning. I've used Mate and
couldn't stand it because I can't just hit super and type the name of the app I want to launch and have it
pop up after just the first couple of letters so, I switched back to Shell. I have not used Unity and have
no interest in using it because it is incompatible with Gnome-shell 3.12's necessary dependencies from the
gnome3 repository. I also have my Gnome Shell pretty heavily extended with things like the applications,
places and removable storage menues on the top bar, workspace switcher, window navigator and a few others.
I admit I am a bit puzzled by your question since you have asked almost the self same question multiple times
in recent months on this list, are a frequenter of this list with what I am sure is advanced knowledge of how
to search an archive and the fact that there have been many wel-discussed threads in the last three or four
months on this very topic. This is my way of explaining why my post is more vague than I probably could make
it since I, for one, have written extensively on my experiences with Gnome shell on here before and can't
quite bring myself to write the same thing over and over again when there are perfectly serviceable and
accessible search fields on the live.gnome.org page for this mailing list the use of which can furnish you
with all sorts of useful info on these desktops. From me and many others who've given some awesome detailed
information far better than what I have written.
Thanks.

Dear all,
I am about to purchase a new laptop (a thinkpad t440 ) in a few hours.
I am now confused what to put on it/
Unity? mait?
I had discussed this earlier, Unity seems to be just fine except that dash issue, which I don't know if it
was fixed.
So that seems my first natural choice.
I am going to upgrate my machine to 8 gb ddr 3 ram so Unity should not be an issue.
However I am also curious about mait and want to know what all works fine with latest version of Orca.
Kindly list all that works.
Wifi access, all the panels, launcher or what ever they call in mait and firefox.
I also use Libre office Calc and some times writer.
Of course being a programmer, I use Eclipse extensively.
Happy hacking.
Krishnakant.
