Re: [orca-list] bringing up the preference dialog

Compiling directly from master. Its in /usr/share/orca/ui .
I wonder if I should do a git pull?

Yes, orca didn't find the file orca-setup.ui.
Can you check if the file exists?
In my machine it is present in the following directory:
/data/software/orca3/arch2/share/orca/ui

I have orca installed in /data/software/orca3/arch2/

How did you install orca?
Using a package or compiling directly?
Thanks.

Well, there is a traceback here.

Hi, I am using the same version that you are using.

Can you generate and send a debug file?
To create the debug file you can run orca in the terminal using the
following command:

orca --replace --debug-file=orca.debug.out

If you have orca installed in a path that is not present in the $PATH
variable, you need to specify the complete path in the command.

After run orca with the above command, press insert+space and restart orca.
if you send me the file I'll compare with a similar debug in my machine.
Thanks.

hmmm, insert+h does work, but neither insert+spacenor
insert+control+space works. Very strange.
But the version is 3.13-pre which is latest git as of a couple of days
ago --- I can get the exact commit if that helps.

Should be, but you can confirm pressing orca_key+h.
This combination should bring help from orca.
Another possibility is that you are using the laptop layout, and in
this case the orca key is capslock.

I am using the desktop layout (I think), so would not insert on the
numpad be the orca key?

José Vilmar Estácio de Souza wrote:

In my case:
capslock+space to open the preferences and capslock+ctrl+space to open
preferences for application.

capslock is my orca key.

Hi. I am unable to bring up the preference dialog -- using orca master
and gnome 3.12.1. HOw is this done and how do you bring up the
application specific preferences? orca-space does nothing.
