Hi Majid,
Many thanks for your work! I successfully followed your instruction with
the help of a sighted assistance because I thought it should be done
when orca is not been starting up. So far it works as expected.

hi guise,
here is a work around for pulse audio to get it working for now.
go to termonall
then laungh gedit using sudo
sudo gedit
when gedit is open, you need to browse to /etc/pulse/default.pa
using the open file dyalog box
in gedit
when you have default.pa open in gedit locate the folowing line
load-module module-udev-detect
and you add the folowing
you put a space after udev-dectet
tsched=0

in the end it will look like this

load-module module-udev-detect tsched=0
save the file and reboot then pulse audio should work
I hope you understood what I was trying to say smile

Hi all,
I did a fresh install of Ubuntu 14.04 with the help of Orca. I notice in
Unity that Orca sometimes start to speech so fast I cannot understand a
word. Before I worked on this machine with Ubuntu 12.04 in Unity 2D
without any problems with Orca. I tried orca --replace but I always end
to restart the machine for to continue working with Orca. In the Orca
preferences the speech rate is set to 70 and there is nothing changed.
Is there anything I can do to solve this problem when it happens again?
Many thanks.
Milton

Hi Milton,

This is a Pulseaudio issue, already reported with Launchpad and Luke I
think working this issue.
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/1267803

This issue already fixed with Pulseaudio 5.0, but Trusty containing
Pulseaudio 4.0-0ubuntu11 package version. Need founding what commit
fixed this issue in Pulseaudio 5.0 version. After this, hopefuly the fix
possible backporting with Pulseaudio 4.0 release.
If you run this situation killall speech-dispatcher command and press a
key, speech rate restoring again.

Attila
