Not only do the qt applets not announce, but than hang-on to focus not allowing further nav in the panel.
Same thing
happened in gnome2 with skype, probably did not have any other qt applet then. I know it still does this with
skype, and
seem to remember the same thing, with Teamtalk. It may not have kept focus from moving throught the panel,
but think that
was the case. Will retest after work.

hi all
I seem to be having a weird problem that I'm not sure what the cause is. A week or so ago, I noticed that I
couldn't get
orca to read the menu contents of any of my qt applications. vlc, virtualbox, etc. I can get the menu
titles to
announce by pressing either alt or f10 to open the menu bar, and I get file, media, edit, etc. But the
minute I press
down arrow to go into the menus orca stops reading the menu items. Pressing escape to close the menus
brings the menu
bar back, which makes the menu bar speak. I've found what seems to be a fix, but only a temporary one.
Removing
my orca
settings from ~/.local/share/orca restored them, but tonight they've gone again. I have qt-at-spi
installed, and qt5
apps don't seem to be affected as much. Can anyone else reproduce this, or have any idea how or why this
happens? On
another strange note, qt applets in mate pannel don't announce with orca, but this could be applet
specific, and not a
problem with qt in general
Thanks
