Thanks, will try that, already added it to ~/.profile, will see how it goes.. Shame really cause I use vlc primarily as my media player, now using cmus strictly till i can get menus etc working with vlc correctly, hopefully this will fix the issues. Will know the next time I reboot. Thanks again!

source .profile
