Check /etc/profile.d/ and see if you have an accessability file for QT there.
If so, then you should not need to add anything in your home-dir, but it will not hurt.

Edit ~/.profile, and add this line:
export QT_ACCESSIBILITY=1
On next login, the variable will be in your environment.
To get it immediately, you can
source .profile
from the terminal.
