Hi,
Orca is not working with braille again. Is there any example program to
test brlapi connections etc?
Brltty shows that connection (probably from Orca) has been established
successfully, however, I get no output, still showing "Screen not in
text mode".
Could you please help me? I need id as soon as possible.
Using orca from official Arch repo doesn't work, orca from git doesn't
work as well.
Thanks,
Vojta

Hello,
Sorry for the double posting.
I should have checked this before writing. On my arch install the file
/etc/brlapi.key already exists without medoing something related to
it. It's owned by root:brlapi . So in order to get proper permissions
you should add the user running orca to the group brlapi. Typically
that would be your user and also gdm user if you like.
Greetings
Peter

Hello,
I have no braille display so this is just a wild guess based on what
I've came accross in the email discussions.
I think you need to setup a brlapi keys so the user running orca has
appropriate permissions to talk to brltty.
See here for the official docs on this:
http://mielke.cc/brltty/doc/Manual-BrlAPI/English/BrlAPI-4.html
I think the file /etc/brlapi.key should include arbitrary data, by
reading this list archives I've found out a post by Jason White
explaining that you can do something like the following to create
that file
mcookie > /etc/brlapi.key

Hi,
I am running Arch 64 bit and Orca from master. This problem happens
also
with orca from official repos.
I have Focus 40 blue braille display and it seems to work with Brltty
normally. It is recognized and displays "Screen not in text mode" in my
preferred braille table.
But Orca can't use it. I enabled braille support in Orca preferrences
but still "Screen not in text mode".
Do I need any additional packages?
I will try to look into debug.out.
