Try pressing the escape key to close the combo box and then pressing c.
If you are on a text entry field, you can tab off before you try to move
to the next combo box, or you can press orca+tab to move directly to the
next input field, no matter the type. This can be done from anywhere on
the page, even if you are not on a field.

In general, data entry modes or forms modes, and especially virtual
buffers, are bad ideas, and I for one am glad the Orca devs have never
implemented such cludges. Better to let the browser do the work in such
cases.
