I've not dug into it, but conceptually? Yeah. It makes sense. The
position just beyond the last character on a line is arguably not a
character. And this non-character has no size or coordinates. That's not
a problem -- unless you have an ancient hack kicking in, saying "oh
noes!" and saying your location is elsewhere.
