Well to start the shell its not super and f10 you just press the super key and then type what you want to launch. I'm not sure what you are trying with super and then another key.

I any ways wished to try it out with Gnome 3.8.
I have tryed with Ubuntu 13.04 and gnome shell 3.8 installed, but certain keyboard commands like super + f10 does not seem to make the applications launcher come up. Or it comes but Orca does not speak.
Also I tryed super + a and still not getting the desired result.
