Apparently speech support has been removed from GRML as of version 2011.12 as no-one was willing to maintain it. I only discovered this the other day when I wanted to use it to look at a system. Braille support remains, or rather was re-added in 2012.5.

This concerns me a lot as GRML is very useful for system rescue etc. I don't know if the rescue mode of the Debian Wheezy CD would be a sufficient substitude, but as has been said in this thread already, choice is good.

I'm sure that if anyone is willing to help out with this, the GRML maintainers would be more than happy to hear from you.
