Re: [orca-list] Slightly OT: WebAIM: Screen reader User Survey #5

Agreed. I confess I was being sarcastic by suggesting: "How would they
know?"

If they don't survey on a par with other technology, they have only
their prejudice to go on.

I'm quite certain we're not a 50% market share, or even a 20%, or 10%
market share. But, I don't believe we're a statiscally insignificant
share, especially if including world-wide use. Also, if they're
surveying performance, ability to access certains kinds of content,
etc., I would warrant they're not entitled to say "technology X" works
better than all others when they exclude our community so cavalierly

Clearly, I haven't looked at this survey yet. But I have my own
prejudices over whether Web Aim is part of the solution, or a
distraction from the solution.

I suppose we have to be smaller than the total in the "other" category,
assuming that people tend to select "other" and complete the survey instead of
simply deciding not to submit it when they find that their software isn't
represented. Whether that's a good assumption I really don't know.

Orca works well with Firefox; Epiphany seems to be developing a growing
reputation for accessibility, and it would be useful for Web content authors
to know that these tools are around and that they have a community of users.
