The Orca preferences window does have an OK button that applies your
settings and closes the window, as well as an Apply button that simply
applies your settings and leaves the window open for you to make
additional changes. However, GNOME doesn't use close, OK, APPly or any
other confirmation buttons for the most part. It simply allows you to
change your settings on-the-fly, and you can just close the window when
you've finished making your changes. It's a difference between system
settings and preferences for a specific application. Hope this helps.
