Re: [orca-list] problems using gedit when in sudo mode

The same problem.
I think that the problem is caused by abug in the accessibility infra structure or some imcompatibility between gnome 3.8 and some components of 3.9.
Thanks.

Hi Jose,

Try using gksudo rather than sudo. That should work btter.

Cheers!

Hi all.

I do not think it is a problem related to orca, but I'm posting here
hoping to anyone point me in the right direction.

I am running gnome 3.8 with at-spi2-atk 2.9.90, at-spi2-core 2.9.90, atk
2.9.4 and python2-atspi 2.9.90.

When i execute in terminal the command "sudo gedit", orca stays mute in
the gedit program and I receive the following messages in terminal:

** (gedit:1159): WARNING **: Error retrieving accessibility bus address:
org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Did not receive a reply. Possible
causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message
bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the
network connection was broken.

(gedit:1159): Gtk-WARNING **: Calling Inhibit failed:
GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name
org.gnome.SessionManager was not provided by any .service files

Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks.
