Re: [orca-list] develop for orca

This should clarify a few things lost in that mechanized translation:

"Good morning, I am an engineer in the field of computing. I am
writing from Venezuela and I am part of a group of Free software users
called CUSLANZ. I am new to this list and I'd like to receive
guidance with regard to collaborating as a developer for the Orca
project. Currently, we'd like to change the Spanish language voice
due to the fact that the one it's got has encountered a certain amount
of resistance because of its robotic sound. We are activists and
defenders of Free technologies willing to contribute to this noble
project. With nothing more to add and excusing myself for my English
errors (I am using a translator).

Attentively,
Luis Ernesto Rivero"

+In order to change the robotic sound of the Spanish voice, you may want
to make some changes to espeak itself, since espeak is the synthesizer
used by default in most distros.

Alternatively, Pico has a Spanish voice that may sound better, and it
should be possible to use it in speech-dispatcher. If this is not
possible by default, it can be used via PicoSpeaker
http://picospeaker.tk/
You will just need to modify a picospeaker-generic.conf and enable it in
speech-dispatcher. I can help with all this off-list if you like,
otherwise, it may be better to help with espeak development, especially
the Spanish voice. Espeak definitely needs native speakers to help with
development of voices for specific languages.
