Does Mate use the old a11y stack?
Do you mean, technically, at-spi/dbus/libbonobo? Or is it still other packages?
Isn't it essentially a fork of Gnome 2
but with all the gtk3 libraries?
If I understand, not GTK3 libs.
Why use it instead of plain old Gnome in
fallback or "classic" mode?
Because I use Debian. And in the next wheezy, I cannot anymore use gnome2. "Classic" mode, or fallback, is by
default when I try on my virtual machine, and I don't get some wonderful result: I don't find any capability
to do alt-ctrl-D, shift-F10 (or Applications key) to open contextual menu (this combination makes gnome
crash). I don't find anymore the same capability to customize preferences of keyboard/shortcuts. Didn't you
experience this? Is it only a Debian problem? In classic mode, really do we have, as in gnome2, a desktop
when doing alt-ctrl-D, or as much shortcuts as with gnome2? Your experience interests me.

Alex M

Hi,
I'd like to test orca on MATE. Can someone tell me if he has already
tested succesfully or not? What release of orca could work? 2.30,
-xdesktop? Could 3.4.2 work on MATE? Has someone experienced and what
are conditions to work?
Thanks,
Regards,
