A far simpler approach, imo, one that may already be available today, is
to use a browser to access the interface on these devices. I would
provide specific examples, but I don't happen to have any of these
devices. I do have SIP phones, however, that work exactly this way and
they're very easily administered in this fashion.

My suggestion, and my request to anyone who has access to these, is to
associate the device with their home lan and launch a browser to the
resulting IP address. It won't matter whether the connection is wired or
wireless, though associating the wirless device might be just a bit
trickier without sighted assistance.
