Ah, Rosegarden is a MIDI editor, so one possible configuration might
avoid all aduio cards.

On the other hand, anyone seriously interested in music production is
likely to have multiple audio cards. It may be possible to avoid that,
but doing so may well be more trouble than its worth, again especially
if you're serious about making music.
