3. User agents, such as Firefox, should not expose objects with aria-hidden to screen readers such as Orca.I don't consider this part particularly interesting, but it is worth noting the spec says "should" not "must" which has somewhat different meaning in the spec world afaik.4. Sadly, apparently Firefox is failing to hide aria-hidden elements from Orca and as a result, Orca still reads the content.actually that's intentional see the discussion in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=780888 for why aria-hidden is bad as specified. As for what you should use that depends on what you are trying to accomplish, but http://www.marcozehe.de/2012/04/24/hiding-content-untangled-hiding-vs-moving-out-of-the-visible-viewport/ may be helpful.
Okay, interesting. But my problem is, that I don't want to hide content from all users or hide it from sighted users and display it to the screen reader. I want the opposite: all users should see it, only the screen reader must ignore the content. I've also read the Bugzilla discussion and although I don't fully understand it I comprehend that the aria-hidden attribute is a bit difficult to handle in it's current state. But sadly I found no alternative method. Regards Eric
