I'd suggest Ventrilo. for GNU/Linux, the client is called mangler and is in the repositories for both Ubuntu and Open Suse; it can be built from sources if not in your repos. mangler.org is the client's home page. I think there's also a mangler for Android. For Windows and MacOS, the client is called Ventrilo, and is available from ventrilo.com. I think there is a free version of the server available for Win, OSX, and GNU/Linux, that offers up to 8 slots for client connections. You can buy more.
