Hi,
How do I upgrade Ubuntu to Ubuntu12 with Wubi?
Do I upgrade within the Linux bootup, or do I re install Wubi?
What if I had data that I didn't want to loose?
I don't have any right now, but just saying.

Hi James,
Well, obviously you are going to get some mixed answers to this
because ultimately what distribution and flavor of Linux you use is a
personal decision. However, for myself personally I do think Ubuntu
12.04 is the best mainstream solution for a blind user right now. A
lot of work has gone into Ubuntu to make Unity 2D accessible, and
compared to access from six months ago its a huge improvement. LightDM
now talks on startup, Orca 3.4.1 and Firefox 11 seem to work nice
together, Thunderbird 11 seems fairly accessible, and Ubuntu 12 comes
with qt-at-spi out of the box which means that you'll at least get
some degree of access to Qt based apps like Skype and KCalculator, etc.

Afternoon folks,
I've been following this list for a number of years, and am
considering switching from OS X. Whilst I like the OS, I am sick to
the back teeth of Apple's prices and some other things, such as being
locked into iTunes to purchase and sync items between the iPhone and
my Mac.
I have always been a keen follower of Ubuntu, but am not a
programmer. I am willing to assist if I can of course, but it seems
to me that programming is not as necessary as it once was for a
totally blind person to move to Ubuntu or Linux more generally is
this correct? Also, I would prefer to stick with mainstream solutions
rather than the very excellent Vinux. This is no slur on mr. Sales'
work, just my preference. So, is ubuntu the distro of choice, or do
folks recommend something else like Fedora? I think it is at v. 17
now is that right?
Thanks
Warmest wishes
James
