Afternoon folks,
I've been following this list for a number of years, and am considering switching from OS X. Whilst I like
the OS, I am sick to the back teeth of Apple's prices and some other things, such as being locked into iTunes
to purchase and sync items between the iPhone and my Mac.
I have always been a keen follower of Ubuntu, but am not a programmer. I am willing to assist if I can of
course, but it seems to me that programming is not as necessary as it once was for a totally blind person to
move to Ubuntu or Linux more generally is this correct? Also, I would prefer to stick with mainstream
solutions rather than the very excellent Vinux. This is no slur on mr. Sales' work, just my preference. So,
is ubuntu the distro of choice, or do folks recommend something else like Fedora? I think it is at v. 17 now
is that right?
Thanks
Warmest wishes
James
