Re: [orca-list] (partially OT)can I backup my inbox

I usually delete or move my messages into folders to try to keep the
size of my in box down.

Since you're using POP, your in box must be stored on your local system
and not up on Gmail's servers.

I'd suggest doing something like creating an old mail folder, or maybe a
folder for each year or quarter to try to keep the size of each folder
manageable. You could move messages by hand or set up a filter. I
haven't done this on the date header, but I see that is an option as
well as the before setting, so you could create a filter to move all of
your messages with a date before January 1,2012 an old mail folder and
then run that filter on your in box.

Hello all,
I have a strange problem.
In my previous email I had mentioned that my mail box is huge and as
Attila rightly pointed out, I will find tough time to use that inbox.
So can I make my in box small by just keeping the recent emails in it?
What I mean to say is, can I have it configured to only retain my last
12 months emails?

I use pop3.
My account as every one can see is on gmail.
So I need a perfect solution for this.
happy hacking.
