Hi,
Well, that's actually the sticking point. I log into XFCE and start orca and it says "welcome to orca" and that's it. Oh, it will say "good bye" too. I have added the export line to .xinitrc and it didn't help. there's probably something else that needs doing but I'm not sure what. Orca itself did build though, and it is installed and talking, just not very much talking at the moment lol.
thanks
Storm

So What all are the things one can do with Orca on the xfce desktop?
Can I do all the activities like office work, net surffing etc?
I am not finding any particular instructions for xfce desktop on the orca wiki.
Happy hacking.

Hi,
I got the list of packages. I have a desktop with XFCE on it, and I
successfully built Orca on it yesterday. I just wrote down a list of the
packages I needed. There are now instructions for the Arch build
invironment on the wiki. it wasn't nearly as hard as I was afraid it was
going to be. And I learned something cool about pacman. the --needed
switch is great.
Thanks
