Hy Joanie,
You wrote:

with any luck we can count on him for patches with tutorial messages

Thank you this name, very good this name. :-):-)
I possible missunderstood your letter part, so sorry if happening this:
Prewious, I think 2008 Jon doed a tutorial messages feature with Orca,
this feature is committed and works great with Orca oldest releases and
orca-xdesktop version now.
In 3.2 release, I found tutorial messages feature related with following
bug when tested I think one month ago the development release:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=659023
Default, Jon doed tutorial messages feature related check box (speak
tutorial messages) is unchecked with Orca preferences dialog, I think
where am I function Orca this situation not spokening tutorial messages
a role related.
In braille, not presenting tutorial messages, because the awailable
presenting character number is limited with 20, 40 or maximum 80 cells.
What can need you help this new ydea related? I welcome help you if my
Python knowledges are enough.
Some month ago, I, Anthony Sales and Rill doed a small GTK application,
with we named Orca Teacher. I doed the main coding related work, Rill
and Tony help le lot of with suggestions, instructions with visual
lookup related and corrected me some time horrible english texts. :-):-)
This application introducing the visual impaired student how can
possible using GTK dialog widgets and Orca Where Am I function, how can
use for example multipage dialogs, how can use menu oriented application
windows, how can use for example Orca flat review feature and learning
modes, and final give the user with some useful hints for Orca and GNOME
Desktop Environment usage. All teached steps are demonstrating the
application with the student user with example dialogs, with he possible
trying the prewious lesson learned knowledges.
This application now using GTK2 UI controls and latest useful hints
dialog are compatible with oldest GNOME releases, so perhaps need
porting GTK3 the UI if you are interesting this application integration
inside with Orca. The code is absolute free, and support full with I18N.
The application UI interface already localized with cech, english and
hungarian language, Ferdinand now working the german language translation.
You possible download entire code if you are installed Bazaar related
packages with following command, after you created a temporary directory
and go to this temporary directory:
bzr branch lp:~hammera/+junk/orca_teacher
If you going the orca_teacher directory and run python orca-teacher
command, the application is launch without installation. Of course, if
the application related package are installed for example with a Vinux
release or my BeLin hungarian distribution, the application have a
desktop icon with the GNOME Applications menu/Accessibility group.
Hopefuly I remember right the a11y related submenu english name in GNOME
Apllications menu.
If I missunderstand your letter part and need doing different thinks
with this new ydea related, please tell me and I try help, if my
knowledges are not enough with coding, testing absolute sure I would
like help.
Attila
