Sorry, I deleted some of the OP original message so I can't tell whether
he mentioned a mac book.  I agree about the insert key on laptops being
way out of the way.

Not sure why that doesn't work well on Macs but on other laptops,
we've been discussing the big annoyence of the capslock status being
toggled every time an Orca function is called from this key
modification.

I don't get the toggle here using Vinux 3.1 but I've switched the caps
lock and the windows key to make my life better with emacs.  I did have
the problem on my last installation of Ubuntu 10.10 with stock orca that
the modifier key was switched when changing things in orca preferences.
I don't seem to have that problem now, though.
