Re: [orca-list] Bottom panel, desktop

There's an ansi code sequence for ctrl-esc I just can't remember it now.
It will be a 0;followed by something else.On Tue, 10 May 2011, Jeremy

Hello,
For anyone running Ubuntu 11.04 in classic mode, there is in fact a
desktop. To get to the desktop (at least on my system upgraded from
Maverick) press super key and D together. The super key is the key
labeled as the windows key on most keyboards. I hope this helps.

You can install gnome-tweak-tool and gnome-shell and then simply remove
them when you're done. This worked for me, and I didn't have to have
gnome-shell running in order to get gnome-tweak-tool to change the
desktop option.

sudo pacman -S gnome-shell gnome-tweak-tool
gnome-tweak-tool
Go to the second page from the bottom, I think it says "file manager,"
and toggle the only toggle button you'll find there. Now close the
window and immediately
sudo pacman -R gnome-shell gnome-tweak-tool
The next time you log in, the desktop will once again be in the panel
list and you'll have all the icons you remember. There seems to be a bit
of strange behavior from Orca, such as the fact that it always says
unselected no matter what icon you have selected, but it definitely does
work. Alt-control-D for some reason won't make all your windows
disappear and put you on the desktop either, but the desktop will once
again take its rightful place among your panels.
