[orca-list] lucid or maverick

is there a way of telling if i have successfully upgraded to 
maverick from lucid and not just got a mix of the two versions 
because it hasn't upgraded properly?
i have checked the version on the about ubuntu menu under the 
system menu and it does appear to show maverick but i read 
somewhere that an app called shotwell is replacing f-spot in the 
graphics apps yet i seem to have both which is why i ask about 
whether or not i have a successful upgrade.
as far as i am aware it looks like it has upgraded in spite of me 
getting garbled speech or switching languages with the speech at 
the end of the upgrade.
