Let's find out how well ubuntu does version management. Search for a file
in /etc with the search term *-version-name and if a file exists, try
reading its contents. Also issue.net in /etc and /etc/issue may have
material. Finally try uname -ar <enter> and see what comes up. On Tue, 12

is there a way of telling if i have successfully upgraded to maverick from
lucid and not just got a mix of the two versions because it hasn't upgraded
properly?
i have checked the version on the about ubuntu menu under the system menu and
it does appear to show maverick but i read somewhere that an app called
shotwell is replacing f-spot in the graphics apps yet i seem to have both
which is why i ask about whether or not i have a successful upgrade.
as far as i am aware it looks like it has upgraded in spite of me getting
garbled speech or switching languages with the speech at the end of the
upgrade.
