Hey all.
As soon as the GNOME Foundation Board finalizes the contract, we will
have someone working on performance with an emphasis on Gecko.
In addition, I'm working on a major (uber) refactor currently to rip
apart much of Gecko so that we don't have to reinvent the wheel with
WebKitGtk. WebKitGtk is really, really performant. Seriously. I do
believe you will like it.
Stay tuned on both fronts. As I said recently, just because you haven't
seen a bunch of little commits lately doesn't mean your humble Orca team
is not busting its butt to make Orca better. <smile>
Take care.

well, it looks like what ever the problem is its in orca somewhere. I
made a test page with 50 links in a row and had orca read it. Heres

I concur. I forced Speech Dispatcher and Orca to use TCP sockets.
I used tcpdump and tcpflow to spy on them, while I was visiting my own
webpage. Here's a dump of the SSIP messages that Orca sent to Speech
Dispatcher. None of these are surprising. They're just "speak"
messages, as used when speaking any other bit of text. However, I could
hear the lag around each of the links.
