Hi
What I mean is that, if the message body area can be identified for
example by control name or maybe control type, would it be possible to
ignore all text inserted events for that control and if that was done
what would be the result? How does the text inserted event get used
exactly? Is it used when you type into the message body area or just
when the new text appears in the control by some other means? I'm
thinking that if such events could be ignored specifically on the
message body area we might do an end run around the issue until Mozilla
gets it fixed, but I don't know enough about all the events and what
they are triggered by and used for. Would such a thing be possible?
Disclaimer: Most of my screen reader scripting experience comes from
Windows where this type of resolution is relatively simple and typically
solves problems like this. I don't know enough about at-spi yet to know
if this even makes sense or if I sound like a complete and total idiot
here. <grin>

Hi Jacob.
Yep that's exactly what's happening. Now, not knowing much of how these
events work as of yet, what would happen if the text insert events were
ignored for that one specific message composition control?
Please explain what you mean by "ignored for that one specific message
composition control".
Thanks!
