[orca-list] A thunderbird issue

HI guys
Ok, this one's a little hard to describe, so hopefully I can articulate
it well enough. This is an issue with Thunderbird that's been plaguing
me for a while, but today it happened so much that I'm finally annoyed
enough to erport it. <smile> Anyway, the problem I'm having is that a
lot of times, when pressing the reply button on a message, Orca will
start reading the message text. This is good. However, control won't
shut it up, but will only shut up the current line of text. It's as if
Orca isn't interpreting the ctrl key to shut up all text, but only the
current text sent to Orca. You'll have to try this one on a slower
system, single-core, to reproduce this one I think. I can't get it to
happen at all on a dual core machine but it happens all the time on my
single core machines. It's as if, instead of getting all the text at
once, Orca is getting it line by line and only acting on that one line.
Could it be a threading issue perhaps? What's so annoying about this is
that, once it happens, I either neet to shut down Orca or mash the ctrl
key repeatedly until it *finally* gets done with all the text. You can't
disable or enable speech, as it lags the same way the ctrl key does and
speech won't get disabled (nor any other action) until Orca is done.
It's worth noting that Thunderbird itself gets lagged out when this
happens as well.
Can anyone reproduce this? I'm running git master current, and
Thunderbird 3.0.4. As I said, don't bother trying this one on your dual
core boxes, as I doubt you'll see it.
