That's what I enjoy so much about Arch Linux. Its package management
system and package builder is so easy to work with, I built my own
packages of Orca and several other packages I wanted to pull from git
instead of using PROD versions. I dunno how easy it would be to build
a locally managed Debian package but then you could install and
uninstall to your heart's content without having to wory about
cleaning up dead wood files and all.

Will there be a certain point in time when we should begin trying the
new stuff out? That is, DBUS instead of CORBA? I just built a package
this morning without any special config options and it's running good
so far.

When someone creates debian packages for it, I'll start testing.

While it would be easy enough to install it from the source repository, I
prefer not to have files in /usr/local that I would need to find and delete
later; it's much more convenient to have all of this handled by the package
management system, which is why I plan to wait until someone creates packages.
